There are at least three things I have realized about the creative writing profession.

First, the lifelong learning, price, and process to be a literary artist is far greater than most ever imagine, as is its value.

Second, gaining appreciation for the art of literature, research, and especially critical thinking as a Humanities English literature student is enriched as a Fine Arts literary writing student; made even more practical with formal professional training as an educator; and continues to progress with elevated purpose by being, to another degree, a Christian Science practitioner.

Third, but not least nor last, the highest levels of learning are made possible by approaching the meaningful arts of literature, writing, and healing through reading, experience, storytelling, and teaching.
